April Balance Box
Even with all this pollen, I'm loving springtime. It brings such renewed energy. Again, to cope with this layer of yellow dust, I've included many of pineapple's star, bromelaine, to help with sinus inflammation and immunity. The April package is heavy on smoothies. It includes all of the SAMA smoothies and I'd love your feedback as we begin to add these to our menu. Good Mood Smoothie, Verdant Smoothie (pineapple water, kale, mint, chia seeds), Smokin' Hot Smoothie (mango, pineapple, kale, jalapeño, chia seeds, cilantro), Dragon Smoothie (strawberries, mango, dragon fruit, almond mylk), and the Bango Smoothie (banana, mango, almond mylk, blue majik spirulina). After defrosting, add 8oz of ice (or frozen fruit) to smoothies in the blender to desired consistency. Find the perfect SAMA mug for your smoothies included too.
SAMA Soup is the cure all in my house. From the beginnings of a cold to an eczema flair, SAMA soup heals all and it's my children's favorite. I like it alone or add basmati rice. Find Turmeric Cauliflower Rice in this box. Sautee it on the stove in ghee for 2-5 minutes. Add the Green Chili Lime Chutney (serrano peppers, cilantro, honey, lime, salt) on top. I like to add salmon to this dish. A perfect balance of all six tastes. Seared Salmon:Salmon filet; Marinate for 15- 30 minutes: coconut aminos, minced ginger, coconut sugar or maple syrup, pink salt, white pepper. Lightly sear in coconut oil for 1-2 minutes.
The juice this month is the Smokin' Hot Juice. Similar to the smoothie, it is made with pineapple, kale, ginger, cilantro, and jalapeño.
The sweet, healthy treat is the SAMA Goji Balls. (oats, goji berries, df chocolate chips, flax, chia, almond butter, honey, vanilla, salt).
My go to meditation is alternate nostril breathing (without using my hands on my nose) see below. I do this for 10 minutes and meditation with 10 minutes. Depending on my mood, I do visualization meditation or TM. TM is repeating silently a mantra over and over as your mind quiets. Visualization is a fun meditation where you see, smell, become everything you dream of. Visualizing as if it is already. I like to meditate first thing in the morning and again in the afternoon before the kids all come home.
